ABG Retirement Plan Services Expands Leadership Team

ABG Retirement Plan Services (ABGIL), third party administrator of retirement plans and health savings accounts, recently announced the following promotions:
- Michele Mooney to Vice President of Payroll and Paying Agent Services
- Cathy Plouzek to Vice President of Human Resources
- Cliff Laine to Assistant Vice President of Investment Services
- Colleen Perry to Assistant Vice President of Compliance Services
- Melissa Wilson to Assistant Vice President of Employer Services
Michele Mooney has over twenty years of extensive management experience and tremendous knowledge of payroll, tax, system conversions, compliance and customer service. Mooney received her American Payroll Association Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) Certification in 2009. In her role as Vice President of Payroll and Paying Agent Services, Mooney will oversee all aspects of payroll and retirement distributions, including tax payment processing, preparation and filing of tax returns, and tax regulations.
As Vice President of Human Resources, Cathy Plouzek develops and delivers people management strategies with the firm's overall strategic initiatives in mind. A graduate from the University of Illinois Springfield with a degree in Management, Plouzek has served as Director of Illinois State Council of the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) and earned the SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) and Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) designations. She has also obtain a Certified Quality Improvement (CQIA) designation from the American Society of Quality. Plouzek has over 25 years of experience in all areas of HR.
Cliff Laine holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Eastern Illinois University. Prior to joining ABGIL, Cliff served as a wealth management financial advisor. Cliff holds the Series 7, 66, and 31 securities registrations. Additionally, Cliff has earned the Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF) professional designation from the Center for Fiduciary Studies. Joining ABG in 2013, Cliff is focused on managing relationships with current corporate retirement plan clients as well as developing new retirement plan business. In his role as Vice President of Investment Services, he utilizes his experience in investment consulting, plan design and participant engagement to assist plan trustees in meeting their fiduciary responsibilities and driving positive retirement outcomes for their employees.
Colleen Perry joined ABGIL in 1994 as an Account Manager, and quickly rose to several supervisory and management positions. Perry has played an integral part in developing many processes and procedures for Employer Services, as well as building new system efficiencies within Compliance Services. As Assistant Vice President of Compliance Services, Perry oversees and supports the Compliance Services Team that comprises of five Compliance Services Specialists and one Compliance Services Assistant. Perry received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from University of Phoenix and is a member of Delta Mu Delta International Honor Society in Business. Perry is also a member of American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries, (ASPPA), the National Institute of Pension Administrators, (NIPA) and maintains professional designations through each organization.
Melissa Wilson joined ABGIL in 2004 as an Account Manager, and quickly transitioned into Compliance & Research to master qualified plan testing and Form 5500 preparation. After her time in Compliance & Research, Wilson moved back into an Account Manager role focusing on large employer plan relationship management and handling the day-to-day administration. In 2008, Wilson was promoted to Team Leader and began overseeing a team of three associates. As Assistant Vice President of Employer Services, Wilson oversees and supports the Employer Services Team that includes nine Account Managers and two Plan Services Assistants. Wilson is a member of ASPPA, The SPARK Institute and NIPA and maintains professional designations through each organization.
